Upgrades are general improvements purchased from Eperin for cogs, and function as improvements that introduce, improve or change various mechanics in some way. They are permanent and last between runs. Upgrades are separated into different categories, Healing upgrades give player more health flasks, Ark upgrades add more things to the main hub, General upgrades are improvements to the player, Vortex upgrades change things in run and Actions upgrades add more actions for the player.
